About the Chef

When I was a kid, the kitchen was my playground.

The sound of sizzling skillets, the rhythm of knives on the cutting board, the smell of smoke and seasoning in the air, that was my soundtrack long before I ever knew what a “career” was.

At seven years old, I had a dream.

Not a plan. Not a blueprint. Just a flicker of hope wrapped in flavor, soul, and faith.

Smacks! is that dream on a plate.

What started as backyard cookouts and late-night cravings has grown into a soulful food experience where comfort, culture, and craftsmanship collide. Smacks! is more than food; it’s hospitality, heart, and home. It’s brought to your table, your backyard, your baby shower, your birthday, your corporate event, and those moments when you need something that truly hits.

Every plate I serve tells a story of faith, family, and flavor; crafted with the same care whether I’m cooking for five people or five hundred.

That commitment has taken me places I never imagined. From cooking at DC United’s home, Audi Field, to working events at Capital One Arena, assisting in opening a restaurant, and serving over 360 guests at a military awards event, each opportunity has shaped my journey and sharpened my purpose. I was also honored to place 5th in my group in Carla Hall’s Favorite Chef Competition, an experience that pushed me creatively and professionally.

Today, I proudly serve the DMV with purpose-driven flavor and unforgettably soulful plates, while continuing to cook for military children, whose resilience and spirit inspire me every single day.

I’m grateful for the journey. Cooking has introduced me to incredible people, stretched me through unexpected challenges, and opened doors that only God could have orchestrated. Every meal, every event, every lesson; it’s all part of something bigger.

I don’t take this lightly.

I’m here to serve. To create. To keep pushing forward.

Because when you walk in faith, doors open that you never saw coming.

Nothing but God.
